Offset has made his position on marriage clear; he is done! Speaking on the Full Send Podcast on Friday, August 22, the 33-year-old rapper discussed the subject of married life amid his rocky split from estranged wife Cardi B, 32.
The rappers got married on September 20, 2017. The ex-couple had a boy, Wave Set, 3½, and a daughter, Kulture Kiari, 7, during their romance.
Blossom, their third kid, was born in September 2024, two months after Cardi filed for divorce from Offset. Cardi first filed for divorce in September 2020 but later dropped it.
In response to host Kyle Forgeard’s question about why he would never remarry, Offset stated that it’s just “not for me.”
“I’ve done it. Had three kids with it. It’s like a mission that’s been complete,” he explained.
The Migos rapper remarked that it all comes down to experience after Forgeard, who is two years younger than Offset, stated that he would like to get married someday.
“You see, I experienced it so I’ve already done it,” he stated, emphasizing that he would still not want his “happily ever after” with someone else because “everything is temporary.”
Offset said that he would advise people against getting married when Forgeard questioned if he would encourage others to do so.
“I would say, unless you’re cool with changing your life entirely,” he said. “You got a partner that’s different. Especially when it’s written and it’s a real thing. Like is this partner’s different?”
Previously, the Migos rapper said that the last song on his recently released album KIARI was about his breakup with Cardi.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,” he said in an interview with the Associated Press. “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on — it’s over and done with.”
“It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed,” he continued.
Meanwhile, HNHH reports that Offset’s recently released third studio album, KIARI, is his most personal piece to date, surpassing even his solo debut, FATHER OF 4.
According to a statement obtained by Hypebeast, the Georgia native believes the same thing.
Offset said, “KIARI is me. I challenged myself as an artist and really put it all into the music. I took my time putting this project together. I know who I am, and I hope the world gets to understand who KIARI is through this album.”
Since it was released, his bluntness has received an abundance of glowing comments from both critics and fans. Rolling Stone gave it four out of five stars, while AOTY, a popular fan review platform, gave it an average rating of 75%.
