Renowned music producer and pastor, David Kojo Kyei, popularly known as Kaywa, has shared how he spiritually guided the late Ghanaian dancehall star, Ebony Reigns, in the days leading up to her tragic passing.
Ebony Reigns (born Priscilla OpokuâKwarteng) died in a gruesome car accident on February 8, 2018, just days before her 21st birthday.
Shortly after the accident, Kaywa revealed that he had repeatedly warned both Ebony and her manager, Bullet, about a looming car crash through a prophetic revelation.
Now, seven years later, in July 2025, Kaywa has shed more light on the deep spiritual connection he shared with the late artiste during her final days.
He disclosed that he personally led Ebony to Christ, and she had accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. This spiritual milestone was further affirmed by Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Founder and President of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, who prayed with her before her untimely death.
âI was very close to Ebony. We were always talking on the phone. I spoke to her about Jesus, and she accepted Him as her Lord and personal Saviour. Even Dr Lawrence prayed with her. So, yes, Ebony received Christ before her passing,â Kaywa shared.
He further recounted how Ebony often sought his counsel whenever she struggled with certain decisions.
âThere were times when she would find herself about to do something she wasnât comfortable with. She would call me and say, âCan you believe Iâm about to do this? I thought I should call you so you can talk me out of it.â And Iâd say, âYeah, donât do it.â So she was becoming a better person.â
Kaywa also used the moment to caution against spiritual arrogance among pastors and prophets who boast about the inevitability of their prophecies.
âIt is the One who reveals that redeems. No man can bring redemption. When I hear prophets boast and say their prophecy cannot be reversed, I become cautious. It is not your power, not your anointing, it is what has been given to you.
âYou canât boast about anything unless itâs given from above. Thatâs what should ground any prophet. I often tell my congregation, the anointing on your pastor is not âAnointing Pro Max.â The same Holy Spirit works in all of us.â
