Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has recounted what inspired his much-anticipated “The Villain I Never Was” album.
In a post on Instagram on October 7, 2025, Black Sherfi, who recently celebrated his 3rd year after the release of the album, noted that the masterpiece constantly reassures him of a greater purpose in life.
“This body of work is a testimony of faith. The kind of faith that assures and constantly reassures you of a greater purpose. It guided me to confront myself and allowed me to look at things from the brighter side,” he said.
The “So It Goes” singer further reiterated that the 14-track album serves as an integral part of his life.
“The album captures my soul and some crucial parts of my being at a significant time in my journey as an artiste. THE VILLAIN I NEVER WAS is the genesis of my never-ending philosophy. HAPPY THREE YEARS OLD to our own,” he added.
